“Pasco County Jury Awards $650,000 to Builder
in Personal Injury Case”
A Pasco County Jury awarded to a builder $650,000 for damages
and pain & suffering as a result of an injury he sustained
that prevented him from continuing his building occupation.
Attorneys Guy Perenich and Gregory Perenich of Perenich, Carrol,
Perenich, Avril, Caulfield, & Noyes, P.A represented the
builder (Plaintiff), who was awarded damages by the jury at
trial. The Defendant, a trucking company found to be liable
in the incident, was represented by an insurance company.
The defense argued that the Plaintiff should not receive any
compensation for the injury. Richard Harris, GAA, testified
as a Real Estate and Construction Cost Expert to assist the
jury in making a determination as to the amount of damages
(loss) due to the builder as a result of the injury. The loss
was based on a proposed construction project that was underway
by the builder at the time of the injury and from prior construction
projects.
